Approach
-
The company identified an opportunity to introduce abura soba, a niche Japanese noodle concept with low awareness in North America. The challenge was to create a brand that felt authentic to Japanese culture while remaining approachable, memorable, and commercially viable for a new market.
-
Developed a complete 0-to-1 brand system through market research, cultural exploration, and strategic positioning. Created a scalable identity with comprehensive brand guidelines and applications across interiors, packaging, merchandise, menus, uniforms, and customer touchpoints to ensure a consistent experience from launch onward.
-
This project taught me that a successful brand is designed for growth, not just for opening day. Every decision was made with scalability in mind, creating a flexible system that could adapt to different markets, demographics, and store formats while maintaining a consistent brand experience across North America.
